Sussex 4x4 Response is a charity run by volunteers giving their time and vehicles freely to serve their community. Our aim is to protect and serve our community by providing logistics and transport during times of adversity such as snow, flooding, natural and man-made disaster.

Story

I joined Sussex 4x4 Response around a year ago with the aim of putting my Land Rover to good use in situations where regular cars aren't suitable.

'Leroy' (the Land Rover) and myself were soon put to good use transporting medical staff to and from local hospitals during the snow this Winter, and we were part of an 18 strong team from Sussex to attend the Isle Of Wight festival this Summer to assist in towing (and lots of pushing) vehicles from the very muddy car parks.  Seeing the relief on the faces of drivers once we had got their vehicles onto tarmac made me realise how important the work we do really is.

Being stranded either at home, work or on the road is an unpleasant and potentially dangerous experience especially in freezing temperatures.

Being a young charity we have lots of equipment to purchase to ensure we can fulfill our role safely and effectivley, ranging from AED defibrillators, communications equipment, protective clothing and instant shelters.

Myself and several other members of the team are going to climb Snowdon on October 28th to raise funds for Sussex 4x4 Response and we would be hugely grateful if you could support us with a donation through this JustGiving page.

Thank you in advance and please check back occasionally to see how our preparation and fund raising is going.
