Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Last year a good freind of mine, Matthew Collins, asked if I would like to take part in an event to mark his 40th birthday in 2012. The idea is to cycle from Putney Bridge in London to City Hall in Cardiff, which doesn't sound too bad, he then said he wanted to do it in three days, which sounds a little harder.

The idea is that Matthew wanted a group of old friends and new to mark this special occasion by doing something together and there was no pressure to raise money as some of them would be doing, but just to go along and enjoy it.

I wasn't originally going to try and raise money, but every time I mention it to friends and family they tell me I should, so hear goes.

I've chosen Cancer Research as we all know someone, friends or family, that have been effected by this terrible desease in some way. It makes sense to use the challenge of cycling 220 or so miles to raise some money for a great charity that does such fantastic work. The entire event is totally self funded so any money I do raise will directly to Cancer Rearch.

I hope you will be able to donate something, but I appreciate that my request will be one of many you'll no doubt receive this year so don't worry if you have already committed to something else or you just don't feel like donating. I haven't set any target as any money raised will be a bonus. Of course I'm sure any money donated will be a massive extra motivation for me to complete the challenge.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.

Thank you.
