My story

Hi,

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

After spending such a large proportion of my life working and generally being away from home this charity helped me realise that family life is just too important to keep just for holidays.

I have an ongoing relationship with a local charity called Ty Gobaith (part of Hope House) through working at Clogau Gold, and I have raised money for TG in the past through work.  I visited the Hospice, located in the Conwy valley, and recognised the importance of the work they do there.

This visit gave me a feeling of being tremendously fortunate to have such a happy and healthy family and encouraged me to support the hero's who work at Ty Gobaith and the many children and families who benefit from the great work that goes on there.

I saw the Conwy Half-Marathon as a way to get personally fit and to raise money for Ty Gobaith at the same time.  Of course, I was afraid of failure, so as my motivation, a couple of friends suggested that I should use it as an opportunity to raise money for charity so that I would be obligated!

This isn't part of a fund raising program or anything I personally want to overly promote. I  just thought it was a great opportunity to raise money for a charity I strongly believe in and am personally very touched by.

Take a look at their work and if you feel like it's the sort of thing you would like to support then please sponsor me for the run or you can even join us for the annual Santa Run at Christmas (nearly 700 Santa's last year!) along Llandudno Promenade.

Best Wishes,

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe – they’ll never sell them on. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. It’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
