Two Way Lake Windermere · 8 August 2009

The Civil Liberties Trust funds the charitable work of Liberty - to protect civil liberties and promote human rights. Liberty raises awareness through the media, helps thousands of people each year with free legal advice and information, influences policy and takes on key legal cases.

Story

A huge thank you for all the support and donations! I made it! The final time was 10 hours 5 mins - a pleasure all the way (except for the bits that hurt!). Donations are still hugely welcome - if not this time then for my Channel Swim July 2010.

Benjamin Pennington

Do something crazy .. raise some money for charity. Sounds like a plan!

Me:   A 21 mile swim in Lake Windermere ... at night.  Water temperature a balmy 16 degrees.

You: Wallets out, hands in pockets, rummages down the back of the sofa all in aid of the charity Liberty who campaign tirelessly to defend our human rights and civil liberties.

Michael Pennington & Thea Hutchinson

Please don't forget my support team either - Michael and Thea. Swimming up and down Lake Windermere for fun might be a bit crackers but following in a rowing boat encouraging and feeding me on demand has to rank up there on any list of strange activities worthy of your support.

Thanks for both your support and donations. They'll keep me going past the ten hour mark!
