Gleeds Global Challenge - South Downs Way · 25 September 2015

Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.

Story

I shall be running 10 miles along the South Downs Way on the 25th September 2015. This is part of the effort of my company (Gleeds) to raise £130,000 for charity this year in celebration of its 130 year anniversary (having weathered a few boom and bust cycles!).

A bit about the disease and charity:

One person in every 500 has Parkinson's. That's about 127,000 people in the UK.

Symptoms and how quickly they progress are different for everyone.

There's currently no cure, but drugs and treatments are available to manage many of the symptoms.

I would be incredibly grateful if you would donate. Donations, no matter how small, can help and provide this great charity with much needed support to find a cure for this horrible disease.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
