Ben's Charity Skydive · 20 February 2010

We raise money to save the lives of people affected by cancer, everywhere. From funding state-of-the-art equipment and groundbreaking research, to creating the very best patient environments, we will never stop looking for ways to save the lives of people affected by cancer.

Story

Imagine standing at the edge of an open doorway in an aircraft flying at 10,000 feet - the noise of the engines and the wind ringing in your ears with only the outline of distant fields below.

Now imagine leaning forward out of that doorway and letting go - falling forward into the clouds, diving down through the air as you start freefalling at over 120mph!

Then imagine the peace and quiet as the canopy opens, the steering toggles come down either side of you and you begin a tranquil parachute descent from a mile up in the air, steering yourself back down to the centre of the drop zone below.

Well that's exactly what I will be doing!

I'm going to be performing a tandem skydive on the 20th Febuary 2010 to raise £1,000 for The Royal Marsden Cancer Campaign. This will hopefully be the first of many jumps for the charity (providing I survive the first one) progressing to a solo accelerated freefall sometime in the summer of 2010.
