Story
Hello! I am Beth, I am 16 years old and have decided to shave my head for charity. My friend Meg was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia last year and has recently finished all of her treatment and is now in remission and doing great! I am immensely proud of her; even at just 14 she has shown such bravery, maturity and her smile and sassy attitude have never faded no matter how hard things got. I want to show her how privileged I feel to have her in my life- and as I saw how hard losing her hair was for her (as it would be for any teen girl) I want to donate my own hair to someone like Meg who needs it more than I, so as well as donating money to Cancer Research UK, I am going to donate my hair to The Little Princess Trust for it to be made into a wig. This feels like a great opportunity to celebrate Meg beating cancers ass, to show how much I love, care for, respect and admire her and anyone else who has/had cancer, raise money to help fund research AND have a bit of fun!
Thank you so much for donating; this event and charity means a lot to me- as I don't know what I'd do if I didn't have my best friend here with me today, I hope we can all help to make that possible for more people to keep their loved ones too!
