Story
Welcome to our just giving page, we have decided to set up this page as a family to raise much needed funds and awareness of MND. What has inspired us to do this is Beth and the brave and dignified battle that she fought against this cruel illness.
Beth was diagnosed with MND in the early part of 2010 and sadly passed away on 18th July 2011 aged just 56 years old.
Beth was a wonderful wife, step mum, sister, aunty and friend to many and she is greatly missed. We hope that in supporting this cause we will help fund research that could one day find a cure for this cruel disease.
As a family we will be organising and participating in a number of charity events over the next 12 months including a half marathon, the grim challenge, a charity golf day, London to Brighton bike ride and a trek to Machu Picchu!
Motor Neurone Disease stops the nerve cells that control the body’s movement from sending messages to muscles. MND is often rapid and always fatal. There is no known cure. As the disease progresses, the person will lose their ability to walk, talk and feed themselves, although their intellect usually remains unaffected. They will eventually lose the ability to breathe unaided. The average life expectancy is just 14 months from diagnosis.
Please help us to help others in their battle against this disease.
