Sheffield Half Marathon 2018 · 8 April 2018 ·
Thank you for visiting my Sheffield Half marathon Just Giving page in support of the Sheffield Scanner.
On 8th April 2018 I will be taking part in the Run for All Sheffield Half Marathon as part of the University of Sheffield team. We're raising funds for the University's £2 million campaign to bring an MRI- PET scanner facilty to Sheffield, the first of it's kind in Yorkshire.
More information about the Sheffield Scanner can be found at www.sheffield.ac.uk/sheffieldscanner.
I've opted in to do this run because I think the MRI-PET scanner will be a fantastic facility, helping people in my lovely home town! After living away for almost 8 years, coming back to the area has made me realise how much I missed Sheffield, and I want to do something good for the city, that will benefit many!
This is a HUGE challenge for me, as I have only done a 10k previously, and in the process of training for this 3 years ago severely sprained discs in my lower back. I have managed this, and am ready for this challenge - even if i have to crawl up the hills of Sheffield, and roll down the other side - I will finish this race!
Please donate whatever you can, and if you want a giggle on the 8th April come and watch me rolly-pollying my way to the finish line!
Thanks,
Beth
