Story
It all started as team-bonding and originally was supposed to be raft-building and a day on the river - sounds quite nice right? It then turned into a day rowing in a regatta. After lengthy discussions, this stellar idea transformed into the Goliath that is Tough Mudder 2016 - a feat quite daunting to many in the office!
Some of us have been in training for the last few weeks whilst some are already fighting fit. The difference between the two is that some see Tough Mudder as fun, some see it as torture - you can decide which is which.
We've watched the videos, seen the obstacles, looked over the course and it's now becoming a reality that WE'RE ACTUALLY DOING IT. Personally, I don't consider wall climbing, ice-water dunking and electrocution to be fun, but apparently "team-bonding" is more important.
It's for a very worthy cause, there is bound to be some incredibly embarrassing pictures and if those aren't 2 perfectly good reasons to donate, you can relax knowing that I'll be going to hell and back for this noble charity.
How will my donation help?
£5 could pay for one person to attend a half hour session at a monthly Dementia Café, providing information and support for people with dementia and their carers.
£20 could pay for 100 copies of Understanding and respecting the person with dementia - one of the Society's most requested factsheets.
£50 could fund one of our National Dementia Helpline Advisors for an hour, as they offer practical advice and emotional support to people living with dementia, their carers, family and friends.
£120 could pay to run Talking Point for one day - the Society's 24/7 online community for all people affected by dementia.
Alzheimer's Society supports people to live well with dementia today and funds research to find a cure for tomorrow.
We rely on voluntary donations to continue our vital work.
