Story

Hi Everyone

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I wanted to do something a bit different to raise money for Make-A-Wish Foundation, a childrens charity, so I decided to make a calendar for 2012, along with 2 friends. We are normal everyday people, aged 49 & 50.

I've attended quite a few charity fundraising events, but never raised money for charity myself before, so thought it was about time I had a go. I chose to make a calendar to prove you can still look good at 49 & 50, and to help raise money for such a worthwhile charity. I must admit this has been the biggest challenge I've taken on as so much preparation went into the organisation of the photoshoot alone; venues, outfits and photography. My friend, Andreas Yiasimi from Cromer, a professional photographer, did the photoshoot for us and commented on the fact that it normally takes 1-2 weeks to do a calendar shoot, so I'd excelled myself and managed to fit it all in, in just 1 day! We all had a fabulous day and the good weather was on our side. My 17 year old daughter, Terri, also helped out with suggesting themes, and on the day with hair, make up and props!

My target is to raise at least £500 to help grant children with a life-threatening illness the chance to make their wish come true. In order to do this, we hope the generosity of sponsors, family & friends and donations from the public, will help us reach our target and hopefully beyond. So come on people, dig deep and let's reach the target.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
