Story
In November 2012 my dear father George lost his three year battle with lung cancer. As a result of the excellent treatment he received at the RUH in Bath we had three really good years with him that we never dreamed we would have. In that time we travelled and did all the things Dad had wanted to do and we will be eternally grateful for this time together. His consultant Dr Frim was simply amazing.
My two wonderful colleagues Barry and Maria have also said that they would like to run with me and asked that any sponsorship goes to my selected charity.
In addition, any money raised I will personally match up to £5,000 and donate the same amount to Dorothy House Hospice. Although Dad did not have to move to the hospice in the end, but died peacefully at home, the support that they gave my mother was wonderful.
The RUH is building a new and better cancer unit and if this makes even more of a difference to the lives of people like us then I would like to help with this.
Cancer is a terrible disease and if we cannot stop it, we can do all we can to improve the quality of life for those who are diagnosed, and their families.
Thank you for your support in doing this, I know that my father would be very grateful.
