Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In August last year I was shook by the news that my dear friend Kathryn's partner Dicky had been involved in a horrific motorbike accident that almost cost him his life. He sustained numerous injuries and underwent several surgeries but now months on he is on the road to recovery. The good news is Kathryn & Dicky are now engaged and will be married this year (yeah)!! It really doesn't bear thinking about how different the outcome of that day could have been for them.

There is no doubt that the help at the scene from paramedics and the Great North Air Ambulance were paramount in saving this guys life. He was air lifted to James Cook Hospital by the GNAAS in 6 minutes!! It's pretty amazing really and with the injuries he had there is no doubt that fast action was critical.

The GNAA operates 3 helicopters 365 days a year across the North East, North Yorkshire and Cumbria. Their crews respond to around 1000 call outs each year. Whether it's in a city centre or a remote mountain, they respond to wherever they are needed in the shortest space of time.

The GNAA is paid for by charitable donations. Without these donations this service could not operate. Please donate whatever you can so this service can continue operating & continue it's life saving ways.

So, now a little about me. I took to running about this time last year and have a few 5ks under my belt. I run slower than a herd of turtles running through peanut butter but I run. Or try too. This will be a massive challenge for myself but your support & donations will hopefully motivate we to get out there and do it. I am hoping to do some other runs as a "warm up" to the main event in September so whether you sponsor me per run or whatever please just sponsor me. And thank you in advance for any donations it really does mean alot.
