We stand for everyone affected by dementia to find a cure

Story

Hello! Thanks for visiting - those who know me well know that I am not the fittest or most athletic person ever. In fact I am quite fitness-averse (does PS4 count as exercise? The science is not yet conclusive) so in an attempt to give me a real challenge and regain some fitness, I have signed up for the Great North Run 2019! I am running to raise money for Alzheimer's Research UK. Some facts:

Over 850,000 people live with Dementia in the UK and that number is rapidly rising.

At £24 billion each year, dementia costs the UK economy more than cancer and heart disease combined but over two thirds of the care for Dementia patients is paid for by themselves or their family.

I will be running alongside some friends of mine doing the "Forty by Forty" Challenge, which can be read about here: https://fortybyforty2019.com/
