Trek up ( & hopefully down ) Snowdon · 7 August 2010
Hi,
Thanks for popping by my website ... I never had the opportunity to climb the mountain in my profile picture and if I had, then I would have climb it for my own sake ... but this site is detailing the challenge I have in August this year, when I attempt to climb up Mt Snowdon in Wales ( & most of you know my current fitness level, so you know it will certainly be A CHALLENGE !! ) but I'll not be doing this climb just for my sake, but trying to raise at least £350 for the Love Hope Strength Foundation.
The official blurb - "Love Hope Strength Foundation UK was registered as a charity in 2007 and co-founded by Mike Peters, two times cancer survivor and internationally acclaimed singer of Welsh rock band The Alarm. The charity promotes innovative, music related, outreach and awareness programmes for leukaemia and cancer sufferers, survivors and their families. Each year in the UK, over 250,000 people are diagnosed with cancer."
My blurb - I've been supporting this great charity for a few years now and through some amazing events and gigs ( including up Mt Everest, Kilimanjaro and along the Inca Trail in Peru ) they have raised awareness and critical funding for cancer centres worldwide, so that ALL people have access to quality treatment and are given the best chance at survival.
In 2010, Cancer is now officially the number one killer on the planet (more than AIDS, TB and Malaria combined) but every penny raised from this event will stay in the UK. It is especially important in these economic hard times with Government making cut backs, that we do what we can to keep our Cancer Centres as efficient and self-supporting as possible.
So please, please, please give as much money as you can afford ... either via this site (details below) or if I'm likely to see you in person in the next couple of months, I do have an old fashioned sponsorship form !!
Many thanks in advance.
Cheers,
Big Chris.
