Imagine being told that you, or someone you love, is losing their sight. In that moment, two profound questions demand urgent answers: Can this be stopped? How will I live my life? We fund the brilliant minds and bright ideas, putting change in sight for everyone impacted by vision loss.

Story

Post-run update

It was a tremendous day again this year, and with a time of 4:41, a respectable performance too.  Superb to see so many people out there supporting us all.

We're nearly there with this year's target, so with your help, we can cross the line in the next week or so.

Big thanks to everyone that's supported BigKev again this year - we're the number one fund raising team for Fight for Sight for the second year running!

Until 2011.

It's London Marathon time!  And I'm running it for the second  year, raising money for Fight for Sight - a charity dedicated to funding world-class research into the prevention and treatment of blindness and eye disease.

Last year, we managed to raise £5,666 for Fight for Sight - the most of any Fight for Sight runner!  So this year we've raised the bar!  Yep, the target is £5,667?!  We can do it!

My reasons for running and supporting Fight for Sight remain consistent from 2009:

- Personal - to get, stay and continually improve my health and well-being - physical and mental, the latter a natural, secondary benefit of the former.

Philanthropic - because I can raise, with your support, a heap of money that can affect people's lives.  In this case, for finding ways to treat things like Macular Degeneration (dry) which currently has no treatment and affects a member of my family.  And all I have to do is run!  Easy!!

I'm using JustGiving again to manage all my dontaions as it's so easy and of course, secure.  Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to Fight for Sight and make sure any Gift Aid is reclaimed (UK taxpayers).

As some of you may know, I only just got the medical all clear, having suffered some weird liver ailments over the last 4-6 months.  The good news is the training has begun in earnest.  The bad news is I won't be breaking any speed records this year!  I will finish though, and the more support you're good enough to provide, the more motivation I'll have to storm home!

Appreciate your on-going interest and support, and thanks in advance for your generosity.
