Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As many of you know, as well as being a fantastic Father, adoring Husband and devoted Grandpa, Dad was also a lifelong cycling fanatic. If he wasn't on one of his many regular rides, Dad was often to be found tinkering with his bikes, building, maintaining, buying and selling them. Cycling and his family were the great passions of his life.

In recent years, Dad suffered from various heart problems, which were being treated, and that he was dealing with. Whilst he refused to allow his illness to distract him from his life or from cycling, his health did sometimes prevent him from being as active as he would like, but his fantatstic level of fitness meant that he lead as normal a life as possible.

It therefore came as a great shock to us all on Friday March 2nd 2012 when, while out on a morning ride Dads heart troubles overcame him, and he passed away quickly. It comes as much comfort to us that Dad didn't suffer a long lingering illness, and that he died doing what he loved, cycling to the end. We enjoyed many great times cycling together, which included several London to Brighton runs for the BHF. We think it's fitting that this year we complete the ride in memory of Dad, and to raise valuable funds for this great cause.
