Story

Last year I wasn't too well and ended up having to travel to Leeds Hospital every day for 6 weeks for treatment. By coincidence Will Burns, the son of some very good friends, was also there having the same treatment, under the same consultant.

The treatment was very aggressive and Will and I use to sit in the waiting room together trying to cheer each other up and both looking forward to the day when it would be over!

The treatment finished in February 2010 and after a few months I was very fortunate and started to recover my health. Sadly Will fell ill that May and tragically died on the 31st August 2010 just two days before his thirtieth birthday.

Between May and the end of August Will was cared for by St. Leonard's Hospice by Home Nurses which meant he was able to remain throughout with his family.

One year on, I and others will be undertaking a sponsored walk in the Lake District in Great Langdale, which was one of Will's favourite walks. All the money raised from the walk will be in aid of St Leonard's Hospice in recognising the fantastic contribution they make at such a difficult time in people's lives.

I do hope you will be able to support this very worthy cause as well as being a tribute to the life of this wonderful young man.

Thank you so much for your support.

Bill
