Two years ago my friend Stef's dad was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. As he's also a talented long distance runner (with a half marathon PB of 1hr 13m! See picture) she thought a half marathon would be an appropriate challenge to help raise vital funds for a disease often called the silent killer. With only 4% of sufferers surviving 5 years after diagnosis (breast cancer survival rates for the same time frame are 87%), this really is a cancer that needs to be beaten.
