Change Mental Health wants to build a future where no one needs to face mental illness alone. We seek to change society by changing attitudes, fighting stigma and influencing government to ensure a better quality of life for those affected by mental illness.

<p>&nbsp;</p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: center; margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><strong style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal;"><span style="font-size: small;">One man&rsquo;s physical and mental challenge!</span></strong></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small;">&nbsp;</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small;">&nbsp;</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small;">Cycling from John O&rsquo;Groats to Land&rsquo;s End would be a huge challenge for most people but for someone who has spent the last 11 years managing and living with a serious mental illness it&rsquo;s an enormous challenge to take on.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">&nbsp; </span>And that is just what Billy Wallace from Tynron in Dumfries and Galloway is setting out to do on 4<sup>th</sup> June 2011.</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small;">&nbsp;</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small;">Billy wants to show that with the right kind of support people with mental ill health can adjust to society and put quality and stability back into their lives.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">&nbsp; </span>He says:</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">&nbsp;</span>&ldquo;It&rsquo;s thanks to the network of social, vocational and educational support I&rsquo;ve received from Support in Mind Scotland that I can take on this challenge &ndash; and succeed!&rdquo; </span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small;">&nbsp;</span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small;">He has already proven his determination when he walked the Southern Upland Way in 2009 but this is a 19 day, 1087 mile solo challenge which will test his determination to its fullest.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">&nbsp; </span>He plans to average 60 miles per day and is looking for as much encouragement as you can give.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes;">&nbsp; </span>A toot, a wave or even a &ldquo;wee push&rdquo; on those long, never ending hills will help him on his way, but also, equally as important to Billy, he wants people to know about the help Support in Mind Scotland can offer to people like him and the difference it can make to their lives. </span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small;">&nbsp;</span></p> <p> <p>So please dig deep and donate now.</p> <p>HOORAY!!!</p> <p>Completed the journey as planned on the 23rd June 2011</p> </p>
