The Biotech Babes are a group of senior women executivies in the life sciences sector and support sectors such as venture capitalists providing funding to biotech companies, law firms and investment banks providing advisory services, and academic institutions.  The Babes meet quarterly to raise money for their chosen charity.  For our September 2009 event, we have chosen to raise money for Target Ovarian Cancer which is a charity devoted to  raising awareness of ovarian cancer.  Our event - a light-hearted tasting of English wines - is being sponsored by Bird & Bird, an international law firm with a broad life sciences practice.  Bird & Bird's generous hosting means that every penny donated goes straight to Target Ovarian Cancer.
