I have set this scheme up in memory of my son, Simon Honeywell, who sadly died on Jan 5th 2010, aged 28.
Simon had a lifelong love of dance and the performing arts from a very early age. From the age of 3 he would entertain and enthral family and friends with his huge repetoire of songs, expressively singing every verse from heart. Throughout his school years in Oxford, he performed in numerous dance and musical shows, gaining a great deal of enjoyment from this way of expressing his energy, enthusiasm and sense of drama.
I would like to support the work of Pegasus Theatre, a community theatre close to my home, which provides the opportunity for young people to experience dance, theatre and performing arts - the opportunity to express themselves, grow in self-confidence and work as part of a team.
I thank you for your generosity. I also recommend, if you are in Oxford, to see a performance at Pegasus, especially when the new theatre is open in Autumn 2010.
