WaterAid is an international non-profit with one goal: to change the world through water. Along with decent toilets and good hygiene, a reliable supply of clean water is essential for health, dignity and a life full of opportunity.

Story

Thank you for visiting The TW IS Department's Raft Race Team’s WaterAid fundraising page.  We have a stellar team this year, made up of some fresh blood from the department - Alistair Scothern, Jacqui Dryden, Mahesh Kumar, Caroline Beasley, Wyn Moseley and Jaswinnder Kaur, ably supported by their experienced and dedicated minions!

WaterAid enables the world’s poorest people to gain access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene education. These basic human rights underpin health,
education and livelihoods and form the first, essential step in overcoming poverty.

We are taking part in the annual one mile raft race organised by Thames Water.  Up to 40 themed rafts will battle it out on the river Thames at Caversham Bridge in this legendary event. Each team will design, build and decorate their raft and wear fancy dress based around the theme of One Hit Wonders.
