The aim of the Bob Scott Memorial Quiz is to raise £25,000 to support the work of BirdLife International, RSPB (the Birdlife Partner in the ) & BTO in their collaborative work to protect and save the natural habitats of threatened trans Saharan migrant birds in .

We know that in recent years the number of returning Summer migrants has started to decline dramatically and research in by BirdLife Partners and the BTO has evidenced these worrying changes. Many of our common Summer visiting birds are under threat and we must act now by working at the grass roots level with local communities in to protect migrant wintering grounds. A recently published book entitled “Living on the Edge” has revealed yet more of the problems.

A big thank you to everyone who has generously donated so far. The Bob Scott Memorial Quiz is fun and aims to get people searching for the answers and enjoying extending their own knowledge whilst at the same time raising much needed funds for migrant bird conservation in Africa.

The quiz covers many forms of natural history and all we kindly ask is that you make a minimum donation of £ 5 or more to obtain your copy. After making your secure on line donation through Just Giving you will receive an electronic thank you with a link to enable you to download the quiz sheet and instructions.  We hope you will enjoy participating and all  entries should be submitted by the 30 September 2010. Correct entries will qualify in a draw to win some super prizes kindly donated by BirdGuides, Sunbird , Swarovski & Simon King.

Bob was a keen ornithologist and enthused everyone he met about birdwatching. He became the RSPB Head of Reserves and was passionate about saving natural habitats in and front line conservation work. Sadly he lost his brave battle against cancer on the 26 March 2009. His wife Ann, family and friends have launched the Bob Scott Memorial Quiz one year on to turn his sad loss into a victory by way of raising funds to save trans Saharan migrant birds.

For anyone who may prefer to obtain a copy of the quiz and instructions by sending a cheque (rather than by making an on line donation) should make a donation cheque of £5 or more payable to - BirdLife International (Bob Scott Memorial Quiz) and post with an enclosed stamped addressed envelop to : -
