In February of this year my wife lost her mum after a 4 year battle with cancer. Throughout that time the Macmillan staff were a tremendous support to the family. I've been looking for a way to raise money to support the fantastic work they do and to honour Sandra's memory.

Sandra was born and raised in the highlands and Glencoe in particular was one of her favourite places, so it's appropriate that this will be the location of my fundraising attempt. In order to raise money, I'll be throwing myself down a mountain for seven hours on my bike, completing as many laps as possible of the course. Cancer is a terrible illness and the statistics mean it will impact pretty much everyone at some point in their lives, either directly or through their loved ones. The Macmillan staff provide amazing support to anyone whose life has been impacted by this terrible disease, and this is just my little way of giving something back for all the support they offered Sandra and the family throughout her illness.
