Story

[This event will be happening on 5 Dec 2015 at 6pm, on my Twitch channel http://www.twitch.tv/BooleGames]

I'm Jack and man do I love me some video games; my earliest gaming memories are of me playing Tetris and the first generation Pokémon games on the classic Game Boy when I was around 4 or 5. Unfortunately, there are a huge amount of kids, teenagers, and young adults who can't experience the same joy I had, for reasons way out of their control.

There are over 11 million people in the United Kingdom living with a long term or limiting disability and almost 25% of those are young people or adults of working age (Office For Disability Issues, 2014). It is not unreasonable to assume a large portion of those have an interest in video games and technology, and this is where SpecialEffect (Reg. Charity No: 1121004) comes in.

SpecialEffect help research and develop technologies that give disabled people the chance to enjoy video games, such as developing StarGaze, a project that introduced eye-gaze and eye-tracking technologies as a means to play video games.

These amazing people and amazing technologies are at the heart of this charity gaming marathon; we at the Computer Society hope that we can raise an incredible amount of money for this fantastic cause, and I hope you can spare some change to help out!
