Story
I
have decided to give myself a challenge and undertake a 10 day trek along some
of The Great Wall of China. I will be doing it next October to raise money for
the Fostering Network.
The Fostering Network is an organisation that I was first introduced to by a very dear friend Amanda. She and I became involved in fostering when I was asked to become her sponsor which in turn enabled her to become a foster mother. Four years later, she has two wonderful boys and I feel privileged to have in some way made it possible for her to undertake such an altruistic role in their lives. There are too many children around Britain who have no family, too many children who have desperately sad stories and yet very little is heard about the self-less individuals who open their homes and most importantly their hearts to make the lives of these children complete and happy.
The Fostering Network is a charity for everyone involved in fostering and has been established for over 30 yrs. They provide advice and support for established foster families, recruit new foster carers and run training programmes for young people in foster care. The BIGGEST challenge they face is that of raising the profile of fostering so that a greater level of support can be offered to those families already established. This in turn is hoped to encourage more adults to come forward so as to help the 51,000 children who need foster care on any one day in the UK
I very much hope that you would consider sponsoring me, in order that all the fostering parents in the UK can help as many children as possible.
I will have to get mentally and physically fit and have started already so I can achieve this worthy challenge. I am sure you will be with me each step of the way!
Thank you.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
