Many young people in the UK find themselves in seemingly impossible 'catch 22' situations. We believe that every young person deserves the chance to get on in life no matter what.

With over 120 projects working with young people in communities around the UK, we are one of the largest youth charities in the country. We work with over 34,000 10-25 year olds, and our hope for every one of them is that they are given the chance at life that we believe every young person deserves.

We work to give all young people the chance to learn, to earn a living and find somewhere safe and stable to live, to stay away from crime and make a contribution to their community. At Catch22 we know there are young people in all sorts of difficult situations and we stick with them no matter what has happened to them or what mistakes they have made. We want to help them find ways out of their tough situations, whatever they may be.

My story

I ran the race yesterday and completed in 35 mins and 25 secs. A big thank you to everyone who has made a donation so far and to those who are going to.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As the creep towards my forties rapidly increases with every day and as I've had nothing to do since finishing my youth work qualification I have decided to do something to get fit. As I am 3 weeks in to a six week 5K training programme (and still actually doing the bloody training!!!!), I thought it would be time to put the money where my mouth is (or YOUR money more precisely). It just so happens that, on the day I should be running my 5k race (Sunday 27th September), there is an organised race in the form of the Milton Keynes Big Fun Run. I have roped my best mate in to provide me with words of encouragement and shouted motivational slogans such as "Feel the Burn!!", "No pain - No Gain" or "That bloke just dropped a tenner". Those of you who know me well should be staring aghast at the sheer impossibility of me doing anything remotely physical other than change the channel or scratch my......well you get the idea.

I have chosen Catch 22 as my charity not just because I work for them and am trying to gain brownie points - but because they truly do great work with young people throughout the country and would benefit from more funding and people knowing about them.

So please try and dig deep and help me make this personal achievement a little more worth while.
