Story
In just over a week, I'm taking part in a four day cycle ride from to . Even though I'm used to cycling, it will still be quite a challenge, as I'm not used to riding big distances one day after the other, and there will be plenty of tough times on the ride.
I'm doing this to raise funds for the British Skin Foundation, which needs funds to continue vital research into diseases like skin cancer and psoriasis. Many of us take our skin for granted, so here's some skin facts to help you consider it a little more:
SKIN FACT 1: Skin disease can affect up to a quarter of the population at any one time.
SKIN FACT 2: Did you also know that skin complaints account for more visits to the GP than any other condition??
SKIN FACT 3: In 2008, more than 10 PEOPLE PER DAY DIED in the UK from various skin complaints.
The BSF receives an ever increasing number of requests for funding, and any contribution you make will help the BSF to explore the causes, which will help to produce effective treatments and cures. To find out more about what type of research is done with funds raised for the BSF, please take a look at their web page. http://www.britishskinfoundation.org.uk/Research.aspx Please help to support the work that this wonderful charity does. Thank you.
