My story

Dejana is 15 years old and has Rett Syndrome. This is a very severe neurological disorder that prevents normal development in girls. They can never use their hands purpose full. Most of them do not walk.

Dejana can walk but she can not play, run, swim, talk or ride a bicycle. She has daily seizures, spasms and dystonia in her muscles. She watches how other children play but she can not join them. Her body does not follow her thoughts. She is locked in. She stops breathing few times a day and she turns blue in her face for a number of minutes. It is a very common problem in Rett syndrome besides epilepsy......

But research showed us that all these symptoms can be reversed in a mice model of Rett syndrome. They are ready to test some promising therapies in girls too. But these projects are expensive. Fortunately there are some charities that will finance research. I opened this page to help them raise money because it can change our lifes and the future for Dejana.

Please help us to find the best therapy for all our girls.
