Story

Update 4th August.  We did it!  A fantastic journey with great support from a number of people.  Thanks to everyone who donated - and yes, you can still donate if you want to!  If you are interested, I kept a blog of my ride at http://brendanwalshjogle.blogspot.com/ .  The original note on this page was as follows....

Just before Christmas we heard that our next door neighbours' son, Stuart, had been injured by an explosion while serving in Afghanistan with 38 Regiment, Royal Engineers.  Stuart has lost the sight in his right eye; one of his fellow soldiers died.

Help for Heroes make a real difference to injured soldiers returning to the UK.  Imagine arriving back in the UK with only the clothes you were in when you left the hospital operating theatre.  Through charitable donations, Help for Heroes provide clothes, shoes, washing and shaving equipment so that injured soldiers are presentable while in hospital.  They also ensure that their family members are looked after with meals and accommodation close by.

Help for Heroes has made a real difference to our neighbours and I hope that you are able to contribute generously to the charity.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Thanks!

Brendan
