The London to Brighton cycle ride has its challenges, not least the Ditchling Beacon, but the lure of the beach will override the pain.

Stongbones Children's Charitable Trust provides exceptional support to children such as our Grandchildren, Amelie and Charlie. I aim to raise at least the cost of the 7 helium balloons that they sent to Charlie, and more recently Amelie, following stays in hospital to mend broken bones. In fact, the box they sent to Charlie (containing the balloons) was so big he had to sleep in the corridor!  

Amelie and Charlie's Dad, Joe, has given more details on the charity and the work they do. His story is as follows:

"Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Myself and my fellow fundraisers are taking part in this year's London to Brighton Cycle Ride on 17th September in order to raise money for the Strongbones Children's Charitable Trust.  As many of you will know my children, Amelie and Charlie, both suffer from Osteogenesis Imperfecta (OI) - more commonly known as Brittle Bone Disease. 

Strongbones do fantastic work to help children like Amelie and Charlie and others suffering from a broad spectrum of bone related diseases. We have seen first hand how beneficial their thoughtfulness at difficult times can be and Amelie and Charlie have attended a number of incredibly well run and well thought out events that really do give so much happiness to children suffering from severe and rare bone conditions.
