In July 2014, Alan Chorley and I will be part of a team of 60 who will be riding their bikes from Greenwich, London to the Eiffel Tower in Paris, totalling over 280 miles in four days.

The charity that we are raising funds for is Macmillan Cancer Support.

In 2012, my sister lost her battle with Cancer. The support she and her family received from the Macmillan team was superb. They allowed her to spend her final weeks, as pain free as possible, staying close to the ones she loved and with dignity.

I have no problem giving my own money to charity, but asking others to do so on my behalf I find a bit more challenging. But I have no hesitation asking on behalf of Macmillan Cancer support, so that they can continue to provide the support, advice and care that they gave to my family, to others in a similar position.

As an added incentive, every Pound you give will be matched by Barclays bank. So it’s one way of getting money out of “Those Banks!” and do good, at the same time.
