In memory of Brian Manning
Donations cannot currently be made to this page
Hospice in the Weald provides compassionate, individualised, holistic and supportive care for all patients, and those important to them, in West Kent and East Sussex. As a local charity not part of the NHS we need to raise £10m each year to ensure our services can continue.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

The Brian Man Team consists of Damian Manning, David Chandler, Mark Rogers, Matt Williams and Nick Gibbins. We are looking to compete and complete in the latest Sophie's Legacy Adventure Race in memory of Brian Manning (Damian's Father) who sadly passed away on the 4th March from Pancreatic Cancer.

On 24th May 2012 the Brian Man Team will be taking part in The Ridgeway Challenge 2012. The 110Km distance will be covered over 2 days taking the teams across 4 counties from Princes Risborough in Buckinghamshire to Wroughton a few miles south of Swindon in Wiltshire.

The Ridgeway is a historic path that dates back 5000 years when it was a busy drove road for transporting livestock across Southern England. The terrain is of chalk escarpments, beech woods and from what I understand lots of rolling hills!!! The route is dotted with pre-historic hill forts and passes the iconic chalk horse carved into the downs above Uffington.

Day one of the challenge will see a run of 12km followed by two cycling legs of just over 20Km each and a final run of 5Km. Day two will be a run of 8Km, a cycle of 38Km and a final 6km run to the finish line.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now for the team, my Dad's memory and Hospice in the Weald who looked after him so well.
