Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

In 1991, at the age of 19, Joe started University in Hull (where he went on to meet Jo), and at the end of the first semester had an epileptic seizure. It took a number of years before this condition was eventually brought under full control by medication. At this extremely uncertain time, the Epilepsy Society (then the National Society of Epilepsy) was an excellent source of information, advice and support.

On Sunday 15 April 2012 Jo will be running the Brighton marathon, and a week later on Sunday 22 April 2012 Joe will be running the London Marathon - 52 miles and 770 yards in the space of a week between us! We are looking to raise money for the Epilepsy Society as they can only continue their excellent work by securing vital funds to underpin all aspects of their work.

As well as Joe, Epilepsy Society has supported people affected by epilepsy since 1892, and in 2012 it celebrates its 120th birthday.

Epilepsy Society's vision is a full life for everyone affected by epilepsy, by promoting research, education and public awareness and by delivering specialist medical care and support services.

Over 12 decades, Epilepsy Society has made major contributions to the development and improvement of the diagnosis and treatment of epilepsy, as well as changing society's attitudes towards people with the condition.

We both hope you are able to dig deep and donate to an excellent cause.

Best.

Joe and Jo x
