SSAFA Trek Nepal 19 FEb 2005 · 5 March 2004

SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity is a trusted source of support for serving personnel, veterans and their families in their time of need. Our trained volunteers and employees provide practical, emotional and financial assistance to the Armed Forces community to ensure they never battle alone.

Story

Treking. Namibia 2001, Brazil 2002, Thames Path 2003, raising funds for SSAFA Forces Help & Rukba. Now a new challenge. SSAFA is running a trek in Nepal in Feb 2005 to raise vital funds for Service & Ex-Servicemen/women & their families when in need.

This will probably be the last trek I will undertake as I will be 76 when the trek takes place & having two replacement knees as a futher handicap, I think I would be pushing my luck to take on any more. So please help me double the minimum amount of £2500 on this last challenge. 28% of your gift will be added if you are a UK tax payer.

Working with SSAFA for 11years in a Service Committee & as a Community Volunteer, I have first hand experience of the dedication & commitment of the thousands of well trained vlounteers, the cost of their training & money needed to carry on with their essential sometimes stressful work.

As a submariner for 21years & S/M Cox'n for 17years. I am sure all submariners who claim to do it deeper will dig deep into their pockets as will all who appreciate the sacrifices & hardship suffered by our servicemen/women & their families to make the world a safer place for us all.
Please be generous- Sponsor me now-Thanks for your support.
