I am raising money for Surrey Air Ambulance as I think they are a fantastic deserving charity especially after playing such a huge part in saving the life of a dear friend of mine and yours...Rob Horne. It doesn't bear thinking about what life could have been like today if they weren't able to fly Rob safely to receive the medical attention he so desperately needed.

His sister's Alix and Emily raised a whooping £10,000 for Surrey Air Ambulance by running London Marathon, Now it is time for my to do my bit and so I am running Brighton's first ever marathon to try and raise as much as I can for this amazing charity. In preparation I am running Wokingham half marathon as well as Fleet half marathon so please feel free to come along and support me!

Some facts and figures about Surrey Air Ambulance :

It was started in 2007 and since then has flown over 1700 missions.

It costs £1.7 million each year to run each helicopter of which there are 2. That is for a 12hour a day, 7 day a week, 365 days a year service.

All of these costs are met through voluntary contributions as they have NO funding from the government or the National Lottery.

From their base in Dunsfold they can fly to the furthest part of the country in 20 minutes and are never more than 7 minutes away from a receiving A & E ward.

All missions are flown with 1 pilot, 1 doctor and 1 paramedic and it normally costs between £1,500 and £2000 per mission.

So I think you will agree how important it is to keep fundraising for these fantastic people, support them and me today by pledging as much as you feel you can spare, I promise you it will make the world of difference to a family out there, like it did for the Horne family.
