Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.  Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.

This page has been set up to raise funds for The Equine Grass Sickness Fund in memory of Jasper and Giorgio.

Raffle tickets can be purchased here.  Tickets are £2 for a strip (5 tickets) or £5 for 3 strips (15 tickets).  You can buy as many as you like.  Simply make a donation on this page and we will allocate you raffle ticket numbers.  Don't forget to make sure we have a way of contacting you - facebook, email address or phone number.  Tickets will also be available at Hayfield Riding Centre, Fountain Equestrian Centre and The Cabin Equestrain Centre or direct from myself, my mum (Gill) or my sister (Natasha).

Raffle will be drawn on Sunday 2nd June.  Some great prizes!!  Good luck!

Why are we doing this?  We lost our much loved boys, Jasper and Giorgio, suddenly last April to grass sickness.  It was devastating losing the two of them in one weekend and we miss them very much.

Grass sickness is a disease affecting the nervous system, causing gut paralysis.  More than 95% of cases are fatal and require swift euthanasia.  There is no cure and the cause is unknown.  The Equine Grass Sickness Fund is dedicated to supporting and advancing research into grass sickness and plan to launch a nationwide vaccine trial, to protect against the disease, in 2014 in conjunction with the Animal Health Trust and Universities of Edinburgh and Liverpool but they need funds to do this.

We want to help support the vaccine trial by raising money to go towards it.  As horse owners, we hope that we will be able to protect agianst this horrendous disaese in the future.
