So please dig deep and donate now.

Last year W4CR raised over £ 25,000 for Cancer Research projects.  This horrible disease touches us all sooner or later.  Let's do just a little bit to help in the fight against it.... Oh and sail and have fun at the same time... What is Windsurfing 4 Cancer Research - "W4CR" ?

W4CR is a charity formed by windsurfers to raise cancer awareness and to promote early diagnosis and healthy lifestyles, and by so doing, to reduce the incidence of the disease. Through specific projects to raise funds for cancer research, education and support,  W4CR aims to increase survival rates by educating the public (through the windsurfing fraternity) to have an improved understanding of cancer. .  The sun will rise at 05:37 on Sunday May 2nd 2010.  It is our aim to have at least four boards and sailors on the water at all times until the sun sets at 22:00.  During that time, you can decide on your own challenge -  whether it’s to sail 20 miles, to sail dressed as Barney the Dinosaur, or just to take part and raise money for the cause! It's your choice.  So, tap into your friends, family and work colleagues for sponsorship and come and take part.  This national event is being held in conjunction with a "windsurfing taster" day, so for some the challenge might be to teach three people to windsurf.  There is no excuse for not taking part and not doing some good... and it should be a great social event for all concerned.

The club will be available for camping and facilities will be available both the night before and the night after.  A BBQ will be on the go during the afternoon....

Naturally, we have taken the step of pre-booking sunny weather and warm constant south westerly winds. How to take part :

Click here to register your details on the W4CR website. You will receive a confirmation email within a few minutes. Within the email there will be a link that you need to click (or if clicking does not work, copy and paste in full into your browser) to confirm your wish to become a member of the W4CR community.

Once this is done, you will be able to login to the W4CR website and register to sail as part of  Sunrise Sunset 2010 at Brogborough. You will also be able to order stickers and W4CR clothing at discounted prices. Please email me If anyone has any questions, please drop me a line barry@rivett.me.uk I can email you Sponsorship forms and collate plans.
