Event: Hartley Wintney to Paris Bike Ride 2010, on 2 September 2010
Participants: Bruce, Alice

Story

Alice (my 16 year old daughter) has persuaded me to do a 200 mile sponsored bike ride from Hartley Wintney to Paris in September 2010.  The Charity is raising money for an extension to St John's Church and the overall target is approximately £2,000,000.  We would really appreciate you sponsoring us, and asking anyone else you know if they will do so too.  Our overall target is to raise £1,000, please think kindly of me as I have started training and the bike saddle is far too small!

The sponsored even starts on the 2nd September with 54 miles to Portsmouth, then an overnight ferry to France.  The next day is also a 50+ mile ride, followed by 84 miles on the third day.  The final day, sounds easy, only 15 miles into Paris, however it's the day after 84 miles and Ali and I are not sure we will even be able to swing a leg over our bikes!

Thanks for taking time to read this and hopefully your sponsorship (charity!)

.

About the charity

St John's Church is the parish church in the Hampshire village of Hartley Wintney. In April 2012, the church commenced the building of a new £2.3m Church Centre, which, when completed in June 2013, will provide new facilities for our church and wider community. Please help us to raise the final 20%.
