Materially, in the UK we are so well off by comparison to most of the people of our world. This is a tremendous opportunity for me to do something practical to help a family take a step out of poverty. Almost 10 million South Africans live in poverty housing - almost 1 in 5. The project has teams of ten volunteers working alongside a family under the supervision of a local builder to build a new home. We will have 10 teams and in one week will build 10 homes for 10 families - In relation to the size of the problem it may not seem like a lot, but you have to start somewhere.
Each house costs £5650 to build. I'm covering all my own costs for transport, accomodation food etc, and donating my unskilled labour to help a family build their new house. This is an appeal for money for the building fund and I very much welcome and appreciate you support and all your donations.
