In 2010 the phone rang. It was Sophie who I'd not heard from in ages:
"Hey Bryn, do you want to drive to Afghanistan?"
".. wait what?"
"Do you want to drive to Afghanistan?..."
"Hahahaha!!"
Here began a life long love of Afghanistan and some of the most hospitable and gentle people you could meet anywhere. The drive was part of a job for AfghanAid and when we arrived we saw many of the life changing projects they led and even drove on roads they'd built. In a country where there are no living memories without war, much essential infrastructure is missing. Without this the people of Afghanistan will struggle to take a firm grip of their own lives.
