Shishukunj is a registered charity dedicated to the cultural, educational, spiritual and physical development of children. It has been in existence in the UK for over 30 years and now has three core centres. All its activities are organised and run entirely by young volunteers. Its draws its strength from a strong relationship between workers, children and parents. One of its project's Life for Children (L4C) has been established to relieve distress and poverty amongst children in the developing countries, specifically focusing on food, health, education and shelter. My story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my Just Giving page.

Virr (15yrs) Atish (15yrs) & I (17yrs) have organised a, ‘Swim For Children’ to primarily improve the mental and physical health of the individual and our second aim is to raise some funds for 'Life 4 Children' - an initiative of Shishukunj that we are involved with that support projects to relieve poverty, sickness and distress amongst children across the globe.

The event will take place on Saturday 5^th September at Copthall Swimming Pool, Champions Way, Hendon, London, NW4 1PX. I have decided to swim 400 lengths of a 25m pool, which totals to 10,000m (10km). In order for me to complete this mammoth task it will take me just over 6 hours of continuous swimming.

At the age of 12, I beat my personal best, coming second best in the

for the 11 - 16 age group to complete Butlins 5km Swimathon 2004. Over the years I have participated in many other charitable events, but this one is going to be one of the most challenging one.

If you would like to participate in the swimathon please contact us swimforchildren@hotmail.co.uk. Alternatively you can assist me in reaching my small target of just £400, so please dig deep and donate now. Remember Gift Aid your donation if you are a tax payer, as every penny makes a difference.
