Please show your support for Katharine Holliday and Abigail Walters as well as Katharine’s friend Rachel Wiltshire, Rachel’s daughters Elsie (7) and Abigail’s daughter Hannah (6), who are all taking on the Anna's Hope Fun Run on Sunday 12 October 2014.
Anna's Hope, a local charity, was set up by Carole and Robert Hughes in memory of their daughter, Anna, who was diagnosed with a brain tumour in February 2005. Sadly, Anna lost her battle in May 2006 aged 3 years and 8 months.
Following research and discussion with Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge, Tadworth Children's Trust and Queen's Medical Centre, Nottingham, Rob and Carole discovered that brain tumours are the biggest cancer killer of children and that research was seriously under-funded compared to other cancers. With the support of Anna's Godparents and close friends, they set up Anna's Hope to help other children and young people diagnosed with brain tumours to give them hope for a better future.
