Story
Hey there,
Firstly thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. Now you're here let me tell you why Neil and I are running (possibly plodding) the Great North Run in September 2012.
Having re-started running, a little sporadically, in 2007 and managed to "encourage" Neil to join me in 2009 when we did our first 10k race in September. We decided that if we are going to run we should try and raise money for charities close to our hearts, this year we have chosen The Stroke Association.
My dad suffered his second stoke and sadly passed away 22nd April 2009. My grandma also suffered from a number of strokes and passed away when I was about 14. It seems like fate to receive notofiaction of my place in the Great North Run from The Stroke Association on the 19th April and the 22nd April saw me re-start my running!
Neil and I ran the Great North Run in 2010, I say ran but really it was more of a hobble, I was injured and ill and shouldn't have run. This time it is going to take all of my strength and determination to get from 0 to 13 miles.
Anything you can spare to help us reach and exceed our fundraising target will not only give The Stroke Association a massive boost but also motivate me to keep on training to ensure we make it round in one piece!
