UPDATE - We are back! Following a challenging week, with its share of set backs and adventures, we successfully made the trip from Whitehaven to Whitley Bay on the C2C and then back again via the Scottish Borders. Thanks to everyone on  the route who helped and supported us and a big thank you to everyone who kindly sponsored our ride.

My son Curtis and I will be cycling coast to coast across England and back again in September to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support and we would REALLY appreciate your help!

The route we are taking is the C2C Route West to East (Whitehaven - Keswick – Troutbeck–- Motherby - Penruddock -  Greystoke -  Blencow village – Newton Reigny  - Penrith - Langwathby - Allenheads – Waskerly Way - Consett – Newcastle–Upon–Tyne – Tynemouth)

Followed by the Reivers route on the return journey (Tynemouth – Stamfordham – Wark – Bellingham – Falstone – Kielder – Newcastleton – Bewcastle – Hethersgill – Westlinton – Carlisle - Hesket Newmarket - Bassenthwaite  - Cockermouth – Whitehaven)

Assuming we don’t get lost along the way the planned journey should be 330 miles.

We will be updating the www.justgiving.co.uk/c2ckirk site as we go, so I hope you will keep an eye on our progress. We set off on the morning of Sunday, 5^th of September 2010.

As I am sure you know Macmillan are a very worthy cause so please dig deep and feel free to ask as many people as possible to support our fund raising journey.
