Layla's Survival of the Fittest and Cardiff Half '14

Survival of the Fittest · 28 September 2014
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This year I have stepped up the game...
I will be running the Survival of the Fittest in Cardiff again this year, on 28th September, along with 9 other team members, and only 1 week later, on 5th October, I will be running the Cardiff Half Marathon!
The Survival of the Fittest is a 10km urban assault course that makes its way around Cardiff, from the bay to the city centre and back again with obstacles to tackle along the way, its a big test of stamina, strength and teamwork! After last year, there's no way I was missing out on this one!
The Cardiff Half Marathon is a 13-mile road race around the city, and I'm in this one purely for the challenge! I've never done a half marathon before, and I'm really not looking forward to it!
Here's the big catch in all of this for me, I really don't enjoy running, so its certainly a challenge to find the motivation to do it!
Watch this space for updates as I'll be doing a lot of training in the next few weeks leading up to it!
Central Beacons MRT is a 100% voluntary rescue service that operates in both urban and rural areas. You may find us at 3am on a soggy Wednesday morning in an urban search for a lost and vulnerable person, or 3pm on a sunny Sunday assisting an injured walker off the Brecon Beacons! We've even been known to rescue animals!
I give a lot of time to Mountain Rescue, for training and for the Call-out to rescue side too, as well as that there are the events the team help support throughout the year, to help raise funds, and the events that like myself, we undertake for personal challenges to raise that little bit more.
If you can donate £1 or £10, any amount will help to keep us going that little bit longer! (Don't forget Gift Aid for UK Tax Payers!)
