Story

The Celtic Challenge

28th to 31st May 2014

Over four days, we will cycle over 200 miles from Edinburgh to the Isle of Iona, passing through some of the most stunning and unspoilt landscapes in the UK.

Starting from St Columba's Hospice in Edinburgh, we will cycle to Glasgow, Loch Lomond, Loch Awe, Tarbet and the Isle of Mull, from where we will make the final leg of the journey by ferry to the Isle of Iona - one of the most significant areas of Scotland's history.

We will cycle past beautiful lochs, ancient ruins and kirks, quaint villages and unspoilt wilderness and will be an experience never to be forgotten.

2nd YEAR COMPLETED 2013

Philip completed the 200 mile charity bike ride with ease having trained hard for the event ......another accomplishment!

With the weather being perfect for cycling, the challenge required great physical and mental effort but the support from SportEcosse Event staff members and the other cyclists who shared the journey more than made up for the unrelenting hills and inclines.

1st YEAR MISSION COMPLETE 2012

Philip completed the arduous 200 mile charity bike ride in one of the hottest weeks in the year......what an accomplishment!

With soaring temperatures, the challenge required great physical and mental effort but the incredible scenery and the support from all who shared the journey more than made up for the unrelenting hills and inclines.
