Alzheimer's Society - Cycle London to Paris 2010 · 15 September 2010 ·

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Hello there!

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We are a team of students from St Andrews Business College in Norwich. Our ages range  from 54 -25 and we have a very cosmopolitan feel about us with 2 Brits, 1 Serbian, 1 Czech and a Colombian in the team!!

We have to raise a minimum of £6500 as a team.( would like to achieve £10,000!) Some of the money raised will go towards the cost of the trip (approx £600 each) so the more we raise the more goes to the charity.

At least 80% of monies raised have to be paid in by July.

Please give generously for this worthwhile cause. By donating, you are indirectly taking part in offering support to all those affected by this unpredictable disease. Your donation will support an on-going research that will hopefully discover a cure and save many lives one day. It will also help improve the quality of lives of those affected by Alzheimer’s disease.

Alzheimer’s disease affects the structure and performance of the brain. It leads to the death of brain cells and people with Alzheimer's also have a shortage of some important chemicals in their brains. These chemicals are involved with the transmission of messages within the brain. Some symptoms may include: confusion, temporary and permanent loss of memory, mood swings, frustration, etc. In severe cases even simple everyday living skills become increasingly difficult.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

London - Paris in four days on a Bike yaheeey!  We Must be maaad!!! - I hope we will all come back alive and not too saddle sore!!!

Thank you very much for your support
