Castelnau Centre Project is a charity with a mission to promote a vibrant, self-sustaining community in the Castelnau estate and North Barnes. Through the Castelnau Community Centre, we run development projects, activities, classes and support groups meeting the needs of local residents of all ages.

Story

Well, we're getting on our bike to raise money for the Castelnau Community Centre. We've both been living on the Castelnau estate for many years now and the community centre, along with the local school are at the heart of community activity. The community centre was taken over by a small charity about five years ago and so the team have to raise all the funding to cover everything they do there as well as keeping and maintaining the building itself. The whole team do a fantastic job and they now run a full programme of activities, support, advice, courses and classes that cater for everyone from the newly born to the older generation. There is a play group, several kids community clubs, an IT club with open access for the community, a community cafe, adult education classes, parenting support, a job club and a whole programme of exercises classes for young and old alike.

We feel very strongly that the Centre provides so much for so many people, some of whom were particularly isolated before they got involved. For these people the Centre has made an emormous difference to their lives and we would like to give something back. We are hoping you will support us in our endeavour to ride tandem from London to Brighton so that together we can raise money to support the Centre's work. With your help we'd like to raise enough to specifically support the programme for the over 50's. Currently, anyone over fifty can access a monthly lunch, a monthly trip out to somewhere of interest, a weekly exercise class, computer courses for beginners and anything else they need support for all at either little or no cost. We hope that the money we raise will help with the burden of supporting this programme and might also go some way to paying for an extra special trip out for those stalwart members for whom coming to the Centre is now a crucial part of their week.

We do appreciate your help and the Centre appreciates your support!! Thank you!
